Bill Schaffer joined Beautiful Blooms one year ago as the Studio and Design Director! He is a great addition to the team, the neighborhood and lucky for me a friend. Bill handles the daily tasks at the studio including all of the ordering of the flowers, dreaming up and creating special projects, bringing the designs that are in my head to life, overseeing the design on all of the events that we do, making sure all the flowers are ordered for the Beautiful Blooms Boutique and so many other things. I’ve listed some info about his background below so you can get to know Bill better.
Bill literally grew up in the floral industry as a third-generation shop owner and designer. Bill has been a Certified Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) since 2001 and has served on its Northeast Regional Executive Board of Directors and The AIFD National Membership Committee. He is an elected member of the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) and has been inducted into the Professional Floral Communicator’s International (PFCI). As the Regional Unit President and Vice-President of Teleflora, from 2001 – 2004, Bill was directly responsible for producing dozens of educational events for the floral industry. In 2003 Bill received their National 110% Award and in 2004 he received their National Achievement Award.
For the past 20 years, Bill has been a shop owner, freelance event and showroom designer and educator. He has given numerous demonstrations, lectures and workshops for local garden clubs, allied and regional florist associations and floral wholesalers. During the past 10 years, Bill has been a featured speaker at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Bill received ‘Best In Show’ honors as a Major Exhibitor at the Philadelphia Flower Show in 2007 and in 2008 received ‘Best Of’ Awards from both the Society of American Florists and The Garden Clubs of Pennsylvania. In March of 2008, Bill joined Beautiful Blooms as the Design and Studio Director. Bill continues to be an educator in he floral industry as well as continuing his lifelong education from some of the world’s top designers.
