Friday Feature: Our Favorite Gift Wrapping Trends

Happy Friday, everyone! With the holidays having arrived so quickly, we are sure everyone has been quite busy getting their homes in order, shopping for presents, and checking all of their lists TWICE! Because we like just about any outlet to be creative, we wanted to share with you our favorite holiday gift wrapping trends. We recently exchanged gifts here at the studio and let’s just say we kind of try to out-do each other on the presentation! See below for three favorite trends we are just loving in the gift-wrap world:

Glitz

Everyone likes a little bling these days…. it’s coming up just about everywhere! Packages featuring glitter, crystals, and sequins are more popular than ever. It lets you have a little more fun and get a little more modern with the packaging… and friends just love receiving a gift they just can’t take their eyes off of! We created a present topped in snowy white glitter and wrapped it with silver wire (with some crystal accents!) in place of ordinary ribbon.

Layers

The Anthropologie/bholdn look is definitely sweeping the market in the fashion, interior design, and even special events industries. Lace, unique paper styles, and vintage pieces make for a classic, yet stylish, presentation — not to mention the brooch or other adornment is just a bonus gift! The biggest part of pulling off this style is definitely using multiple layers of different elements to create a really custom look. We wrapped this present with paper that had a texture similar to wax paper, then overlaid it with a unique sheer Japanese lace paper. We also layered a blush-colored satin ribbon with a vintage ribbon (that we sometimes use for bouquets!) and pulled it all together with an amazing brooch.

Natural

This look will certainly never get old…. everyone loves the warm, fuzzy, “home for the holidays” feel and this style accomplishes just that. Natural and textural fabrics, the timeless bow, and fresh holiday greenery will always convey that “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”! We wrapped the present in burlap, topped it with an over-sized gold satin bow, and layered the top of the present with sprigs of fresh pine…. it smelled AND looked just like the holidays!

Well we hope you like our favorite wrapping styles and the cute little packages we created! Happy Holidays!
