We love when couples bring personal touches into their wedding day. Even the smallest things—like sewing initials into your gown (or tux), decorating the soles of your shoes, or including a piece of your mother’s wedding dress into your bouquet make the day that much more YOU and that much more special. There are a plethora of ways to personalize your wedding day…the options are practically endless. We compiled some (not all!) examples of the many wonderful ways our couples have added personal touches to their weddings to share with you!
The centerpieces for our bride Libby’s wedding featured a very special tree trunk. Just before the wedding, Libby’s favorite tree from her childhood yard was cut down. She wanted to have the tree made into something she could keep since she loved the tree so much. Her father cut the trunk and we used the pieces throughout the decor of the entire wedding day. It was as meaningful as it was beautiful!
Another great way to add a personal touch to your day is on the bouquet. Some brides choose to incorporate decorations like pendants or pieces of fabric from a loved one’s wedding dress or perhaps even a picture in memory of a beloved family member into the bouquet. This adds a unique, close-to-the heart touch to the already special bridal bouquet.
Melissa and Sam had a handmade wood-burned ring box for their adorable ring bearer. We love it! Such a romantic and fun take on the traditional pillow. Melissa also used a hanger for her wedding gown that had her and her now-husband’s name in it! Even details that may seem small like this really add to the overall experience and feel of your day.
For the musically inclined, preparing a song or joining with the band for a few tunes can be a great way to incorporate your love of music into your celebration. At Scottie and Cooper’s wedding, Cooper and his little brother joined the band to perform. The bride Scottie described, Coop is an amazing guitartist and his little brother is incredible on the piano, so they got up with the band and played a few blues songs to entertain the guests! It was one of the highlights of the evening.
Finally, Kelly and Josh printed pieces of their email flirtations from the very beginning of their relationship onto the napkins at their wedding. I just love this. it’s such an amazing reflection of their relationship, from the first moments all the way up to the wedding day!
Those are only a few ways our brides and grooms have personalized their wedding.
