Hannah & Ben’s Destination Wedding–The Final Installment

So here we are! The final installment of this amazing destination wedding. In the first and second post, we showed you some of the preparations we did in order to create this beautiful wedding on the gorgeous, remote Cumberland Island. Now, we are so excited to show you some photos from Alan Weiner of the days and nights themselves! We felt so lucky to be a part of this wedding weekend.

As I wrote in the previous post, Lucy Buffet sister of Jimmy Buffet and owner of Lulu’s at Homeport Marina, brought an extension of her famous Alabama restaurant to Cumberland Island for the guests. It was delicious and looked fabulous.

Every night, the guests enjoyed dinner in the Cantina, which was built on site for the wedding. Beautiful Blooms Events designed the décor inside. The family has a deep connection to Mexico, (San Miguel in particular), and we wanted to incorporate a rich Mexican feel within the Cantina, so we decorated it with many Mexican items provided by the clients from their homes and Gogo’s retail shop.

Every night of the weekend, guests performed at the Cantina. The groom is a member of Ben Taylor’s band, and the groom, Ben Taylor and others had a wonderful time playing music together for the other guests. The Cantina stayed open late and the guests enjoyed the performances while sipping specialty cocktails and snacks.

Guests stayed all over the island—some in the Greyfield Inn, some in private islands, and some in a Tent Village. Guests brought their own tents and were provided with outdoor showers and were able to enjoy the beauty of the island even while they slept.

The rehearsal dinner took place right on the beach. The natural background made the colors pop beautifully!

The wedding ceremony itself took place on the steps of the Greyfield Inn. The wedding party and guests moved to a tent to dance the night away under the stars (both the ones in the sky and the ones in the tent!)

The Bride’s stunning necklace is a Carnegie Family Heirloom, passed down through the family so that she might wear it on her wedding day.

The Bride and Bridal party wore Nicole Miller, a close family friend of the Bride and her Mother. The reception was catered by Donnie Masterson, owner of The Restaurant in San Miguel. Entertainment was provided by DJ Martha Alvarado of Buddah Bar.

We were thrilled to work with the amazing event producer Deb Connor (in black), Cynthia and Deborah and our own Donna O’Brien of Beautiful Blooms Events.

Gil Guteras, and Doc Severinsen, the ever-fabulous jazz trumpeter and leader of the band on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, are pictured above. They are both wonderfully talented musicians! It was amazing to hear them play.

It was an unforgettable weekend. The bride looked stunning, the guests had a fabulous time, and we couldn’t have been happier to be a part of such an amazing wedding event.
