International Philadelphia Flower Show-2011 Inspiration

I can’t believe it is almost August which means we need to get into full mode to begin designing our Flower Show Display. This year we are honored that we were moved to a larger space and are now in the Invitational Floral Category.

When thinking about our inspiration for next year’s display I went back to my fashion background. Having grown up in Europe and traveled extensively, I have always loved the chic yet classic fashions of Chanel. Our exhibit will be inspired by the timelessness of Coco Chanel and her designs.

The Coco Chanel era

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel heralded new designs and revolutionized the fashion industry by going “back to basics”, incorporating elegance, class, and originality. Under her tight reign from 1909–1971, Coco Chanel held the title as ‘Chief Designer’ until her death on January 10, 1971.

I love the clean lines of the logo and the gift box. The white gardenia accent on the box is the piece de resistance!

The Black and White is so clean but looks just as great when mixed with a hint of ivory.

All of these images were found on flicker.
The black looks equally lovely when paired with light pink.   We will be deciding the exact color palette we will head towards very very soon.
Another color combo that is beautiful is the black and soft yellow.
Stay tuned for more inspiration posts!
