Previously I blogged about this wonderful charity event that Beautiful Blooms Events was participating in last week called a Date with A Plate. This event was held at the beautiful Phoenixville Foundry. The Event benefited IMAJNZ Foundation, incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a non-profit, non-stock corporation, was founded by Judi Goodman and Sharyn Berman as a fundraising organization to support selected nonprofit, operating organizations and public charities in the Delaware Valley area. To generate donations, the Foundation hosts a gala event titled “A Date with a Plate”.
A Date with a Plate is a two-day event that celebrates exquisite table décor as interpreted and presented by professional event planners, florists, interior decorators, and caterers as well as personal collectors sharing their aesthetic passion. The event features a Patrons’ Party dinner and the “Second Helping” luncheon, a series of lectures and both live and silent auctions or raffles.
Our inspiration for our design was drawn from this image found in InStyle January’s issue.

The colors just spoke to us and we loved the way the sangria color worked against the white. This color palette lead us all to think about doing a Wine Tasting table display so voila “Perfect Escape ” was created!
We decided that this look should not only be created for one night but also for a way to help raise even more money as silent auction offer. We will recreate this look on Liberties Walk for one lucky winner and their friends. Starr Events will create a lovely wine tasting menu for 8 and Frank’s Union Wine Mart will provide the wine for the event. What could be lovlier than dining under the stars with great friends at the “Pefect Escape?”
The set up began with the installation of our wood archway. We actually have two of them that we use for events but since we had a 10 x 20 space to work within we thought putting two of them together would really work nicely.
The first step to creating our look was to tape out our space and then begin putting up the structure and laying the carpet.

The next step was placing the chandelier and the tables and chairs.

Slowly we begin to place things.

We were so pleased to have Starr Events work with us on our display. They created a gorgeous cheese and fruit platter and Frank’s Union Wine Mart provided the wine along with Two Paper Dolls the paper products.
Thank you to Moore Events for lighting our display with uplights and pinspots. It truly made the difference by having this lighting installed.

This amazing chandelier was the focal point of our display and was custom piece we had created. We found square wine glasses and had them woven into a beautiful piece which we could accent with flowers. I LOVE IT! I can’t wait for us to be able to use it again.

We wove a mix of sangria colored peonies and calla lilies all throughout the structure.

A view from below of this chandelier piece.

To create this look, we had a white carpet to accent the wine colored linens and ruffled chair covers and place mats. We liked the idea of mixing ruffles with a modern look to create a chic wine tasting party. The center table was a white patent table and the two end tables were skinny tables covered in wine colored linens.

The wood arbor was a perfect structure for so many reasons including the fact that we could hang the chandelier from the center and drape gorgeous sheer wine colored fabric from it and hang vases of flowers. You might recognize these vases as we hung over 500 of them in our flower show display this year. We are now selling these at the Beautiful Blooms Boutique and they can be used in so many ways.

Bill arranged a mix of japanese sweet peas, Japanese white long stem gloriosa lilies and white peonies to create this incredible display.

I loved how we did these wine menus on the table. So unique!

The single peony in a white cube was a nice accent at every place setting.

Not everyone on the Beautiful Blooms Events team was able to attend this event but a few of us made it for the photos.

What a great time we all had creating this design for Date With a Plate. As you can see I dressed for the occasion in wine and white and I just had to carry something floral. I carried this lovely bouquet of Lily of the Valley and it became my purse for the evening. I tied my car keys right onto the bouquet and it made life so easy.
Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we all enjoyed designing it!
