Winterthur & Hotel Dupont Wedding: Carly and Dan-November 14, 2009

When I first met Carly and her mom Robin at our studio we immediately hit it off and just knew this would be a great match.  Marie Labbancz had already been choosen as the photographer so I knew we’d get some great photos.

Marie took Carly and Dan out to Winterthur for photos prior to their ceremony at the Hotel Dupont.  These are two of my favorite images.

Carly’s dress is and was beyond beautiful! What a gorgeous couple they make.

Monique Lhuillier loved the dress and Marie’s photos so much she has them on her website too. Check out Marie’s blog to view the images.

Carly wanted a wedding that was romantic, tasteful and elegant in keeping with the beauty of the Hotel Dupont and that is what we created for her.

We started off by creating this beautiful bouquet made out of a single rose and then added many many rose petals. Each rose petal was individually placed below the single rose head to form this one large “Glamellia” bouquet.  It mirrored the tiers of Carly’s dress and had to be made just before we walked out the door to deliver and set up Carly and Dan’s ceremony and reception.

We delivered the bouquet very carefully with lots of tissue paper under the head so no petals would be damaged.  I think I personally held the bouquet on the trip to Delaware so nothing would happen to it.

The bouquet handle was also wrapped in fabric that had been purchased from Monique Lhuillier to match the bride’s dress.

The boutonnieres were small works of art made from spray roses accented with a white branch with gold wire and some from freesia blooms.

The ceremony was help in the Du Barry room where we lined the aisle in tall glass cylinder vases with a mix of different white flowers.

In keeping with the romantic feel, we created a chuppah out of birch branches, wrapped sheer fabric and clusters of white hydrangea and roses.

Carly loves butterflies and most people know by now that I love them too. They have been a part of the Beautiful Blooms logo almost from day one. I love that the meaning behind them is “new beginnings” as it is so fitting for a wedding.

Carly choose butterflies to be their place cards so we created a base of wood branches and roses petals so they could nicely land on the table. We also accented the place card table arrangement with a few. I loved that they had a bit of amber bling on their wings.

We did leaping flowers with hanging amber crystals down the center of the long appetizer table.

The doors opened to the reception and the room was a big glow of white flowers, amber crystals and candlelight.

I always love when we do these glowing table numbers. Details. Details!

We wish Carly and Dan and their families much happiness and love!
