Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Wedding: Bill and Holly-October 31, 2009

Three years ago, I met Bill as he was moving into my apartment building.  We instantly be came great friends and eventually roommates.

One day when Bill came home, he told me he had met a girl named Holly who actually lived three doors down from the house.  That was it for the two of them and within a year they were engaged. I couldn’t have been happier for the two of them as they are the absolute perfect match.

I was thrilled when they asked me not only to do the flowers for their wedding but also to be a guest. It had been a long time since I attended a wedding as a guest and it was so special and also a great party!

The very spot where Holly, Lola and Bill met in Northern Liberties.

All of these wonderful photos were taken by Marie Labbancz. Event planning by Beautiful Blooms Events.

Bill and Holly choose the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art’s Historic Building for their ceremony and reception which was held on Halloween.  We lined the front steps of the building with luminaries.

The couple wanted a few tasteful nods to the holiday such as glass pumpkins for the place cards and yummy candy apples as you left. Otherwise the color palette chosen was electric blue and orange.

The ceremony was very heart felt and everyone around me had tears in their eyes. It was a very very special day!

Holly looked breathtaking in her lace dress and carried a hand tied bouquet of orange calla lilies.  At first Holly was torn between tulips and calla lilies but ended up choosing these gorgeous orange callas for her wedding bouquet.

Bill and Holly posed with Bill’s twins on the stairs of the Academy.

Evan’s ring bearer pillow was made from moss and orange spray roses tied with electric blue ribbon.

The bridesmaids bouquets were a combination of electric blue hydrangea, orange parrot tulips, orange asclepius, orange roses and blue delphinium.

These are some of my favorite photos of the happy beautiful couple.

The room looked beautiful if I must say so myself.

The centerpieces were large squares of electric blue hydrangea, blue delphinium, orange roses, orange callas, and orange freesia. The arrangement was accented with beautiful ribbed copper votive cups.

The Maid of Honor’s speech again brought tears to our eyes as she passed her half of the “best friends” necklace to Bill. She had kept her half for almost 20 years and now decided it was time to give it to Bill.   Not a dry eye in the house!!!

We danced all night!

I wish Bill and Holly all the best.
