If you are looking for a modern, art gallery setting for your wedding or special event then you definitely need to check out the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building.  True, there are other gallery spaces in Philadelphia that we love (Hello, F.U.E.L. collection, you’ll get your blog feature soon!) but where else will your guests be seated just feet away from some of the finest works of the last century? If you travel with an art saavy crowd then you’re sure to overhear comments at your reception that go something like:  “Oh my, is that a Pearlstein over there behind table nine?”  and while it’s nice to impress your artsy friends you won’t need a MFA to appreciate all that the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine arts has to offer.  The staff is amazing (Bill Swoope and Judi Garst are two of our very favorite people in the industry!), Jimmy Duffy Catering will stuff you with amazing food and the beautiful architecture and clean lines of the Hamilton Building lend themselves to really any type of decor.

Decor, now that’s where we come in. If you’re using the Hamilton building for your event and have no clue how to decorate a modern art gallery then sit down, grab yourself a snack and check out some of the vastly varied events we have done there.  Everything from a candy-colored bat mitzvah to an earthy green and white wedding.  It’s the perfect canvas for your creative ideas.

First up check out these beautiful images from Laura Novak Photography of Marni and Brad’s chic modern-yet-natural wedding.

I just love how the whiteness of the space combined with the white and green flowers makes everything look so clean and crisp!

Next up check out some images from Rebecca and Josh’s wedding.  They opted to use Phalaenopsis orchid plants in a variety of colors as the table decor.  I love this because the Phalaenopsis orchid feels like it belongs in a gallery.  It’s a flower so stunning it needs no accompaniment.  Thank you M K photography for the amazing pictures.

Next we have some super sweet pictures from Joel Perlish Photography of Abigail’s Bat Mitzvah.  Abigail’s big day was all about candy and lots and lots of color.  This event was unique in that it occured between exhibitions and the walls were bare.  Instead of being Blank and Blah this was actually very cool!  Plenty of lighting thanks to Sharon Moore of Moore Events really made the space exciting.

And last but not least one of our all time favorite events- Julie and Nathan’s wedding.  You may recognize these images from our website and various other places because we just can’t get enough of them!  The couple really wanted something that was elegant but also whimsical.  Brightly colored poppies, Flowering Cherry branches, Gerber Daisies and Tulips were just the thing. Kendall of Eclatante Event Design headed the team on this one. Great job Kendall! Thank you again M K Photography!  Great job with the photos!
